Italy 2016

My first flight, our first girls holiday and my first time in the beautiful country of Italy.

As we took off, I was blasting 'Don't Stop Me Now' by Queen - a moment I will never forget. My mum, sister and I explored Venice, Lake Garda and Verona, three beautiful places. I'm someone who loves experiencing/learning about other cultures and Italy is defiantly the place to be for that. Everywhere I looked, photo opportunities sprung up and as you can imagine, I didn't hesitate to whip out my camera to snap some shots.

It was amazing to see all the names written on the wall at Juliet's Balcony - love is love.

RISE WITH THE SUN

6:46 - running down to the sea shore, last week, I realized that sunrises are always more positive than sunsets.

Predominantly, I was thinking that I hadn't done any form of serious exercise for over two weeks, making me contemplate whether this run was really worth it, as I struggled to breathe. However, as I got to the sea shore, I smiled. I had planned to wake up early the night before to catch the sun rise over the sea in the south and it was defiantly worth it.

6:49 - I had missed it but was still running.

6:52 - It still looked stunning, none the less.

I walked down the slope onto the sand and sat on the planks of wood that would host beach huts in the summer. Despite not normally being a morning person, I was one that day.

I learnt two things that morning:

1) If you put your mind to something, you can do it by simply DOING IT.

2) The sunsets every evening, ready to rise again the next morning.

It does this 365 days a year, allowing you to rise with it. A cloudy sky didn't prevent me from taking beautiful images therefore, a clouded mind or vision for your future doesn't mean that it won't be beautiful and bright. Being in a dark place isn't the end of the road as stars can only shine once the sun has set (apart from the sun for those science geeks). I think it's important to remember that no one will be constantly happy but by appreciating the small details that make up the world - it makes it all more bearable.

Back in London - the views are still beautiful. This furthers my point about the darkness still being part of the beautiful picture.

You're Worth More Than The Makeup - Review

At roughly 1:45 last night, I decided that I wanted to put makeup on; I honestly have no idea why but I did. I couldn't sleep and after staying in all day looking like death as a result of illness, I wanted to look cute. It really hit me that plastering my face in makeup made me momentarily happy but that was soon changed.

A wave of thought along the lines of, 'Anna what the hell are you doing at 2am putting makeup on?'

It's really weird but I get so much done at night, I could happily be up all night. If I wanted a super power, it would to be able to stay awake forever without needing sleep.

I feel very much like Brooklyn Beckham with these pictures haha.

Literally the best liquid makeup remover I have ever used. It leaves your skin so soft and mostuized.

I wanted to stress that you are more than what you plaster on your face. No makeup brand, magazine or celebrity can tell you what you should look like. Moreover, remember that you have never seen yourself from the perspective of a stranger, you have only seen reflections or images. You may be unhappy with see the same thing over and over, resulting in you feeling self contious, yet a stranger may see you as utterly stunning. Your bums, boobs or waist line cannot define who you are. It is all about what's inside.

You should be happy with what you have and know that you are created in the image of God, nothing less than beautiful.

1AM

anna nicholls

so i was messing around with the flash on my phone at 1am yesterday.

A couple of days ago, I had a horrid dream in which I failed all my exams and ended up with 'w' grades. This shows how much I'm scared of failing. I mean you cannot even get a grade 'w'. There is something officially wrong.

I have come to the conclusion that we all overthink too much. Thinking before we go to bed especially, is where my thoughts crumble into tiny jigsaw pieces that are impossible to fit back together. Over time, I have come to realise that sleeping is the best answer. Always go to bed with a happy thought and then wake up with another. I am NOT a morning person however even I know that if I wake up with a smile, I am more likely to have a good day.

Despite it never really being my day, I always will make sure I balance out the pros and cons. Yesterday was not my day, yet at the same time it was. I, whilst sat on the loo, wrote down on bog roll what was good about the day and what was bad. Even though the bad side was slightly longer, I still learnt to appreciate the minuscule things that happened throughout the day that simply made it my day.

Every day is your day. Never let anyone run your day and most importantly never let the small negative things weigh out the positives.

Frosty Morning Walks In London

I adore the city that I live in. It is truly amazing - no matter what season. Despite it being freezing, my mum and I ventured out a short way to go for a morning walk yesterday. I loved seeing the frost on the ground and the ice over the puddles previously made the day before. Many of you have complimented me on my pictures that I post here on my blog so all I can do is keep posting more!
